RENEW-BOOSTER

Free RENEW-BOOSTER intake

RENEW-BOOSTER is a Eurocluster under the EU Single Market Programme. Its second call funds SMEs whose innovations make the clean energy supply chain more resilient: photovoltaics, offshore wind (floating offshore wind in particular) and energy grids. There are two strands. Strand A answers one of four challenges set by industrial challenge owners; Strand B is an open call. Either way the SME puts in its own money: co-funding is mandatory and cannot be staff time.

Call details
Funding
Strand A: three SMEs per challenge each receive €10,000 with at least 20% private co-funding for a demonstration of about three weeks; one of the three, chosen on a final pitch and results, then receives €50,000 with 40% private co-funding for twelve weeks. Strand B: grants of €10,000, €30,000 or €60,000 for a project of three to six months, each with a minimum private co-funding. At the €60,000 tier you put in as much as the grant. Co-funding must be your own money or a loan; personnel costs and other in-kind contributions do not count. Each SME can receive at most €60,000 across all RENEW-BOOSTER calls.
Who can apply
SMEs under the EU definition (fewer than 250 staff, turnover up to €50 million or balance sheet up to €43 million, with group figures where an enterprise is partner or linked), established in the EU-27 or a country participating in the Single Market Programme. Companies that received funding in RENEW-BOOSTER Call 1 cannot apply again. One application per strand per SME. Strand A is for single SMEs only; under Strand B a consortium of up to three SMEs may apply.
Scope and maturity
The project must fall under the photovoltaics, offshore wind or energy grids value chain and show its contribution to the Critical Raw Materials Act and/or the Net-Zero Industry Act. The call text expects projects at TRL 6 to 7. The four Strand A challenges: robotic painting of offshore foundations (EDF power solutions), cost-competitive suction anchors for floating offshore wind (Navacel), second-life use of industrial batteries (Estabanell Impulsa) and trusted positioning for offshore wind when GPS fails (PGE Baltica).
Programme and selection
Call budget €800,000. Deadline 30 November 2026 at 17:00 CET, through the EU Survey application form, in English. Three criteria, Excellence, Impact and Quality & efficiency of the implementation, each scored out of 10 with a threshold of 6. On a tie, Impact counts first. For Strand A the challenge owner sits on the evaluation panel. Results are expected in mid-January 2027.
Deadline
30 Nov 2026— 57 days remaining
Max grant
€60,000
Eucade’s angle

We read this call against its own application form, field by field. Three things decide it before the technology does: whether your company is an SME once group figures are counted, whether you can put in real money as co-funding, and whether your project sits squarely in PV, offshore wind or grids with a clear link to the Critical Raw Materials Act or the Net-Zero Industry Act. The organisers have not yet confirmed the exact co-funding for the €10,000 and €30,000 tiers, so we do not quote it until they do. The intake below takes about ten minutes, and every answer goes straight into the application.
