RENEW-BOOSTER Eurocluster · Call 2

Your free RENEW-BOOSTER intake

For SMEs in photovoltaics, offshore wind and energy grids. Strand A funds a response to one of four industrial challenges (€10,000, then €50,000 for one SME per challenge); Strand B is the open call, with grants of €10,000, €30,000 or €60,000. Deadline 30 November 2026, 17:00 CET. Every question below is taken from the official application form or the call's eligibility rules, so nothing you write here is wasted: it goes straight into your application.

This form is in English only, because the application itself must be written in English. We work in writing: no calls. Start with the eligibility questions. If the call does not fit, we tell you there and you can stop.

First: can you apply?

RENEW-BOOSTER has conditions that end an application regardless of how good the project is. Each question below is one of them, worded as in the call documents. About three minutes.

Question 1 of the application form, answer options copied exactly.

Which strand

Strand A: you answer one of four challenges set by an industrial challenge owner. Stage 1: three SMEs per challenge each receive €10,000 "with at least 20% of private co-funding" for a demonstration of about 3 weeks; stage 2: one of the three, chosen on a final pitch and results, receives €50,000 "with 40% private co-funding" for 12 weeks. Strand B: the open call, any topic within the scope, one stage, grants of €10K, €30K or €60K over up to 6 months. You may apply to both strands with distinct activities.

Question 6 (call type) and question 14 (topic selection) of the application form.

Strand A is for single SMEs only. Under Strand B a consortium of up to three SMEs may apply; the grant may be transferred to the lead SME, which distributes it, and the co-funding requirement applies to each SME individually.

Question 4 of the application form (partnership format).

Your company

Question 3 of the application form, same list of 39 countries.

Question 10 of the application form (scope information).

Fewer than 250 staff, and an annual turnover of at most €50 million or a balance sheet total of at most €43 million.

Declaration of conformity in the application form: SME status declaration.

"A firm that is part of a larger group may need to include staff headcount/turnover/balance sheet data from the group (partner and/or linked enterprises), in accordance with EU SME rules." In short: another enterprise holding 25% or more of your capital or votes makes it a partner enterprise; more than 50%, or control, makes it linked. The same applies the other way round: if you hold such a stake in another enterprise, you are not autonomous either.

Question 16 of the application form (number of employees).

Question 17 of the application form (annual turnover, latest closed financial year).

Question 18 of the application form asks you to upload this (max 1 MB).

Each SME may receive at most €60,000 in total across all RENEW-BOOSTER calls. Applying to both strands is allowed with distinct activities, but the two grants together cannot exceed that €60,000.

FAQ, eligibility.

Earlier public funding is not a problem in itself. Funding the same activities or costs twice is.

Call text, general EU funding principles.

For example: no significant greenhouse gas emissions without mitigation, no substantial pollution or damage to biodiversity. At application stage a self-declaration is generally sufficient; evaluators may ask for more evidence.

Declaration of conformity in the application form: DNSH principle.

Grant and co-funding

"Co-funding must consist of the SME's own financial contribution. In-kind contributions are not eligible as co-funding. Therefore, personnel costs, salaries, and staff effort/time are not eligible as co-funding." It can pay for materials, equipment, external services, subcontracting or prototype testing.

Anything else

We reply in writing within 2 working days. Your answers are used only to assess this application and are never shared with third parties.

The application is submitted by your company through the EU Survey form of RENEW-BOOSTER, with a signed Financial Identification form and your latest balance sheet as uploads. We prepare the full application and hand it over for you to paste and submit, with a final check before you press send. Deadline 30 November 2026, 17:00 CET.

The intake and the assessment are free and carry no obligation. If the route fits, the next step is an Application Plan: €450, excluding VAT, deducted in full from the application price if the Service Agreement is signed within 30 days of delivery of the Plan. A RENEW-BOOSTER application then costs €2,450, excluding VAT, fixed and agreed before we start, with no success fee; a second, parallel application (one in each strand) adds €1,500, excluding VAT. A consortium application is quoted separately. At the €10K tier that fee is a large share of the grant; we will tell you plainly whether it is worth it.

Every condition on this page is taken from the official RENEW-BOOSTER Call 2 documents: the call text, the FAQ, the Strand A challenge document and the EU Survey application form (RENEW_BOOSTER_2nd), read on 1 October 2026.
