Eligibility — the checks applied before any scoring

Open Call Text §2.1 and §4.1 · eligibility check

The country where your company — or the branch that will run the project — is established.

Open Call Text §2.1 and §4.1 · eligibility check

Only the regions named in section 2.1 qualify. In most countries the capital region is not on the list. If yours is missing, choose the last option.

Open Call Text §2.1, Q&A 1 · eligibility check

You must be officially established in an eligible region on the day you apply. The call’s Q&A accepts headquarters or branch offices there.

Open Call Text §2.1 and §3 · required with the application

A document proving your establishment (for example a company-register extract) is submitted with the application. It may be in its original language.

Open Call Text §4.1 · eligibility check

EU definition: fewer than 250 staff and turnover up to €50M or balance sheet up to €43M — counted together with partner and linked companies, for example an investor holding 25% or more.

Open Call Text §4.1 · eligibility check

Companies that are partners in the NACHIP consortium cannot receive this funding.

Open Call Text §2.1 · eligibility check

The call excludes organisations with a potential conflict of interest: family, emotional, political or national affinity, economic or any other direct or indirect interest that could compromise impartial implementation of the agreement.

Open Call Text §4.1 · eligibility check

You declare your financial stability with the application. Typical signs of “in difficulty”: more than half of the subscribed capital lost through accumulated losses, or collective insolvency proceedings.

Open Call Text §2.1 and §3.1 · every consortium member must be an SME

Apply alone, or with up to two other companies. In a consortium every member must be an SME, and no member receives more than €60,000.

Open Call Text §2.4, Q&A 3 · eligibility check

A sub-project lasts at most 6 months, with no extension. A longer duration is not eligible.

Open Call Text §3.4 · double funding is not eligible

Taking part in another I3 project is welcome, but the same activities cannot be funded twice.

Scored under criterion A3 · up to 2.5 of 60 points

Name the project and the activities funded there. Complementarity with other innovation actions and I3 projects is a scoring criterion.

Challenge and maturity

Technical Annex (Annex 1) · scored under A1 (up to 10) and A2 (up to 7.5)

The Technical Annex lists the needs of the NACHIP partners. The titles below are copied exactly from it.

Scored under A1 and A2 · A1 is scored by the NACHIP coordinator

Name the line of the annex you answer and the NACHIP pilot your solution would be tested or integrated in (Pag, Velenje, Torviscosa, Udine or Zagreb). Working in the same field is not the same as answering the need.

Open Call Text §1.1 · not a formal eligibility check; likely to weigh in A1 and B1

The call is written for hydrogen-based solutions at a TRL above 7 — so TRL 8 or 9.

Supports criteria A1, B1 and B3

Where it has run, for how long, at what scale and for whom. Certifications count too.

Your application, by scoring criterion

Scored under criterion A1 · up to 10 of 60 points

What your solution is, what the 6-month sub-project will do with it, and how it goes beyond the current state of the art.

Open Call Text §3.1–3.4 · basis of the budget

Lump sum, 100% funded, no own contribution. You receive 50% after signing the contract and 50% after the activities are assessed at the end, so you pre-finance the second half.

Scored under criterion B1 · up to 10 of 60 points

Main activities over at most 6 months, and roughly where the money goes (staff, subcontracting, equipment, travel, materials). Include taking part in at least one NACHIP event — that cost is not reimbursed separately.

Scored under C1 (up to 12.5) and B2 (up to 5)

Who buys this, how large that market is, and how you will sell it after the sub-project.

Scored under criterion B3 · up to 5 of 60 points

Who does the work, and the relevant experience or certifications. Several needs in the annex give priority to specific experience or certifications, and challenge 1 requires a deep understanding of composite materials.

Scored under C2 (up to 5) and C3 (up to 2.5)

Social, territorial and environmental effects, including what your project does for the eligible less-developed regions.

Open Call Text §4.3 · tie-break

Only used when two proposals end on the same score: the team with the highest share of women is preferred.

If selected: an online interview, then a contract. You receive 50% at signature and 50% after the end assessment, submit a mid-term and a final technical report, take part in at least one NACHIP dissemination event, and agree ownership of joint results with the NACHIP partners involved before the collaboration begins (Open Call Text §4.2, §6 and §8).

Free and without obligation. You receive a written assessment within 2 working days.
